Fantasia premiere chiller “THE CURSE OF AUDREY EARNSHAW” sets U.S./Canada release dates

Following its world premiere at last month’s Fantasia International Film Festival, the religious/folk horror film receives wider exposure next month.

Written and directed by Thomas Robert Lee, THE CURSE OF AUDREY EARNSHAW will be released in the U.S. by Epic Pictures October 2 in select theaters, October 6 on VOD and DVD and October 20 on Blu-ray. In Canada, A71 Entertainment will open the movie theatrically October 9 and on VOD October 20. George Mihalka, director of the original MY BLOODY VALENTINE, was one of the executive producers of CURSE, which stars Catherine Walker (A DARK SONG), Jessica Reynolds, Jared Abrahamson, Hannah Emily Anderson, Sean McGinley, Don McKellar and Geraldine O’Rawe. Set in 1973 in a rural community whose members still live as if it’s the 19th century, CURSE focuses on Agatha (Walker), whose neighbors suspect her–quite rightly–of practicing witchcraft, and her teenage daughter Audrey (Reynolds), whom Agatha has raised in secret. Audrey yearns to come out of hiding and explore her own occult abilities, and when she gets the chance, the result is trauma for the townspeople.
