Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival goes virtual, announces first wave of titles

Originally scheduled for last month, the 2020 edition of Latin America’s largest genre fest will be an on-line screening event starting in July, and a wide lineup of movies has been revealed for it.

The 16th Fantaspoa will run on-line from July 24-August 2 via the Brazilian genre video streaming service Darkflix, free of charge. More than 110 features and shorts will be shown, hailing from over 35 countries (including two Fantaspoa co-productions, SKULL: THE MASK and THE PANDEMIC ANTHOLOGY); they’ll be geo-blocked to Brazilian viewers with a cap of 5,000 views. However, numerous other events, including interactive Q&As, celebrity master classes and lectures, will be available to genre fans worldwide. In addition, Ugandan filmmaker Isaac Godfrey Geoffrey Nabwana, a.k.a. IGG Nabwana, and his Wakaliwood company will be celebrated with a Special Achievement Award. The initial 16 films announced are:
