International terrors and creatures converge on the Night Visions Film Festival

The 2017 edition of the Night Visions International Film Festival in Helskinki, Finland opens with Guillermo del Toro’s much-anticipated THE SHAPE OF WATER (pictured) and continues with a wide range of horror and thriller fare from all over the world. Read on for more of the fest’s hot lineup.

In addition to SHAPE OF WATER, U.S. titles at Night Visions include:

  • Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s THE ENDLESS
  • Graham Skipper’s SEQUENCE BREAK
  • Marc Meyers’ MY FRIEND DAHMER
  • Tyler MacIntyre’s TRAGEDY GIRLS
  • Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s LEATHERFACE
  • Ash Avildsen’s AMERICAN SATAN
  • Lloyd Kaufman’s RETURN TO RETURN TO NUKE ’EM HIGH
  • S. Craig Zahler’s BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99
  • Taylor Sheridan’s WIND RIVER
  • James Franco’s THE DISASTER ARTIST
  • Flying Lotus’ KUSO

Simeon Halligan’s HABIT reps the UK, Canada howls with Lowell Dean’s ANOTHER WOLFCOP and Brandon Christensen’s STILL/BORN, France weighs in with Coralie Fargeat’s REVENGE, while italy contributes Giordano Giulivi’s THE LAPACE’S DEMON. There will also be a heavy Scandinavian contingent:

There will also be documentaries like Morten Traavik and Ugis Olte’s LIBERATION DAY, P.
