New trailer and poster for “FREAKS,” now coming Friday the 13th!

A festival favorite and one of the year’s best genre films, the sci-fi thriller FREAKS has had a shift in opening day and a new trailer and poster (by Studio Ronin artist Chris Shy, who also did art for MANDY and GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS) unveiled.

Featuring the impressive screen debut of young actress Lexy Kolker, alongside Emile Hirsch (THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE) and veteran actor Bruce Dern, FREAKS will now open in theaters nationwide September 13 from Well Go USA. Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky wrote and directed the movie, which has won awards at the Brussels, Vancouver and Paris International Fantastic Film Festivals. The synopsis: “A disturbed father [Hirsch] locks his bold 7-year-old daughter [Kolker] in a house, warning her of grave dangers outside. But the mysterious Mr. Snowcone [Dern] convinces the girl to escape and join him on a quest for family, freedom, and revenge.” Stein and Lipovsky talk about FREAKS here.
