Lost alien “FOES” arriving on Blu-ray; art, info and trailer

Close encounters of the unkind are coming to Blu-ray as the long-unseen 1977 sci-fi thriller FOES is flying to Blu-ray courtesy of Garagehouse Pictures. Read on for the details, cover art and trailer.

The FOES Blu-ray will arrive on Earth June 24. Written and directed by John Coats, it stars Macdonald Carey, Jerry Hardin (who would later be part of more extraterrestrial shenanigans as THE X FILES’ Deep Throat), Jane Wiley, Alan Blanchard, Gregory Clemens and Coats. The synopsis: “A military team traces a UFO to a small island off the coast of California. Cut off by a wall of magnetic energy, the team is forced to helplessly stand by as a lighthouse keeper and his wife become the first human beings to engage a deadly, inhospitable alien form of life. Trapped on the island as night falls, two divers on a weekend vacation search for an answer to the inexplicable events, only to ultimately come face-to-face with terrifying, unfathomable creatures of swirling light that are mankind’s implacable ‘Foes.’ ”

Never before available on U.S. video, FOES will be presented on Garagehouse’s all-region Blu-ray in HD for the first time anywhere in the world, accompanied by the following special features:

  • Audio commentary by director John Coats
  • Coats’ original director’s cut
  • TALES OF L.A. short film
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Photo gallery
  • Garagehouse Pictures trailers
  • Cover art by Stephen Romano

Retail price is $24.99; you can pre-order FOES here.
