A Michigan cryptid gets its own screen vehicle next month.
Small Town Monsters, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary of delving into mysterious creature lore, has DAWN OF THE DOGMAN launching exclusively on streaming platforms, including Apple TV, Prime Video and Google Play, on December 9. Directed by Seth Breedlove (THE MOTHMAN OF POINT PLEASANT, ON THE TRAIL OF BIGFOOT), “The documentary centers on the personal account of author and researcher Linda Godfrey, who first brought the legend into the public eye, and serves as a successor to the 2018 film THE BRAY ROAD BEAST,” according to the PR.
The synopsis: “For decades, the Michigan Dogman has haunted the forests and backroads of the Great Lakes State–a towering, wolflike creature said to walk on two legs, terrifying those who cross its path. This gripping documentary delves deep into the legend, exploring chilling eyewitness accounts, historical records, and never-before-seen interviews with the late cryptozoologist and author Linda Godfrey, whose research helped bring the Dogman into the public eye. Through expert analysis, and stunning reenactments, DAWN OF THE DOGMAN uncovers the truth behind one of America’s most enduring cryptid mysteries.”
