“OBSESSION,” from “MILK & SERIAL” creator, gets a release date

Praised at major festivals, it’s heading for theaters next year.

Focus Features has announced that it will give OBSESSION Stateside release May 15, 2026. Written and directed by Curry Barker, who first won notice for his microbudget MILK & SERIAL, it won raves at TIFF and Fantastic Fest and won the People’s Choice Award at the Sitges Film Festival. Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, Andy Richter star; the synopsis: “After breaking the mysterious ‘One Wish Willow’ to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.”
