With this filmmaker at the helm, we’ll assume this version will go heavy on the supernatural spookery.

Variety reports that Ti West (the X trilogy) is at the helm of EBENEZER: A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic/ghost story, for Paramount. Johnny Depp is in final talks to take the title role, and Andrea Riseborough (POSSESSOR) will also star. The script is by Nathaniel Halpern, whose credits include series like TALES FROM THE LOOP, LEGION, OUTCAST and RESURRECTION, which further suggest this take will be heavy on the genre elements. We’ll bring you more as we find it out!
