Trailer and poster prepare psychological sci-fi thriller “THE ASTRONAUT” for liftoff

The fear follows this traveler to Earth in the movie releasing next month.

Vertical brings THE ASTRONAUT to theaters October 17, following its premiere at this year’s SXSW festival. Written and directed by Jess Varley, it stars Kate Mara, Laurence Fishburne, Gabriel Luna, Ivana Milicevic, Macy Gray and Scarlett Holmes. The synopsis: “When astronaut Sam Walker [Mara] crash lands back to Earth, she’s discovered alive in a punctured capsule off the Atlantic coast. General William Harris [Fishburne] places her in quarantine under strict NASA surveillance for rehabilitation and testing. But as disturbing events escalate, she begins to fear that something extraterrestrial has followed her home.”
