The Brooklyn-set variation on the zombie apocalypse hits more festivals and theaters next month.
The Independent Film Company and Shudder release QUEENS OF THE DEAD to theaters October 24. Before that, the movie (which won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Festival earlier this year) will play LA’s Beyond Fest on Sunday, October 5, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival on Thursday, October 16 and New York City’s NewFest on Saturday, October 18. Directed by Tina Romero from a script she wrote with Erin Judge, QUEENS stars Katy O’Brian (LOVE LIES BLEEDING), Jaquel Spivey, Tomas Matos, Nina West, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Jack Haven, Cheyenne Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Margaret Cho, Riki Lindhome, Eve Lindley, Becca Blackwell, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Julie J. The synopsis: “A zombie apocalypse breaks out in Brooklyn on the night of a giant warehouse party, where an eclectic group of drag queens, club kids, and frenemies must put aside their drama and use their unique skills to fight against the brain-thirsty, scrolling undead.” See our review of QUEENS OF THE DEAD here.
