Get a bloody taste of the swords and the sorcery coming in October.
DEATHSTALKER, a reboot of the Roger Corman-produced franchise, will hit theaters October 10 from Shout! Studios. Filmmaker/effects artist Steven Kostanski (FRANKIE FREAKO, PG: PSYCHO GOREMAN) wrote and directed, and the cast is headed by Daniel Bernhardt in the title role, Christina Orjalo, Paul Lazenby, Nicholas Rice, Nina Bergman, Conor Sweeney and Patton Oswalt (providing the voice of the wizard Doodad). The producing team includes RUE MORGUE’s Rodrigo Gudiño and legendary guitarist Slash, and Kostanski’s Action Pants FX shop provided the copious practical creature and makeup effects. The synopsis: “The Kingdom of Abraxeon is under siege by the Dreadites, heralds of the long-dead sorcerer Nekromemnon. When Deathstalker recovers a cursed amulet from a corpse-strewn battlefield, he’s marked by dark magick and hunted by monstrous assassins. To survive, he must break the curse and face the rising evil. Death is just the beginning…of great adventure!”
