Virginia Feito’s popular novel published earlier this year is coming to the screen.

Bleecker Street has announced that it has won an intense competition to nab the U.S. rights to VICTORIAN PSYCHO, which began shooting this week in Ireland. Author Feito also wrote the screenplay, and Zachary Wigon (SANCTUARY) is directing. Originally set up at A24 with Margaret Qualley (THE SUBSTANCE) starring, the movie now toplines LONGLEGS’ Maika Monroe and LAST NIGHT IN SOHO’s Thomasin McKenzie (pictured above) along with Jason Isaacs (EVENT HORIZON). The synopsis: “Set in Victorian England, VICTORIAN PSYCHO sees an eccentric governess arrive at a remote gothic manor, where strange happenings stir suspicion that she’s not what she seems.”

“We are proud to partner with this incredible creative team on VICTORIAN PSYCHO,” says Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson. “Zach’s vision is thrilling, and we know every frame will be shocking, unique, and for lack of a better word, cutting. Backing this film continues Bleecker’s mandate of supporting exciting voices and bringing entertaining, impactful films from across all genres to theaters.” A nationwide theatrical release is planned for 2026.
