The horrific saga based on the Mad Cave Studios comics now has a new audio component.

Animotion Media has released the first of six volumes of original music complementing Encyclopocalypse Publications’ audio drama THE LAST WARDENS. You can listen to it on all platforms here. This score, which will be released in weekly installments starting today, was composed by ALONZO, a.k.a. Lon Strickland, who has released two instrumental albums and scored the 2008 horror feature THE TOWER and the award-winning 2022 short film BILLY KILLS THE INTERNET.

“This collaboration offered a rare opportunity to be part of a musical project that reflects horror, chaos, grief, and resilience, not just jump scares,” says Oleg Troyanovsky, Animotion’s head of music. “Our goal was to complement the intimacy of the audio drama with music that deepen the listener’s emotional connection to the story.”

THE LAST WARDENS “tells the story of Danielle Pryer, a young woman drawn into a brutal, mysterious war between supernatural forces and a dysfunctional team of misfit guardians,” according to the PR. “The franchise, which also includes an exciting tabletop roleplaying game by Studio Far Horizons, paints a story of survival, trauma, and choices, set against the backdrop of monsters both real and metaphorical.” The audio drama was created by Amit Tishler and Elliot Sperl and features the voices of Felicia Day, Anjali Bhimani, Mark Meer, Ginny Di, Shiva Negar and Matthew Watterson.

“We’ve always envisioned THE LAST WARDENS as a multisensory, multiplatform experience,” says Tishler. “With Animotion’s help, we’re expanding that vision, bringing the horror, the emotion, and the stakes to life through sound.”

“With THE LAST WARDENS, we set out to build a world that feels hauntingly real, and these soundtracks add a whole new layer of depth,” adds Sperl. “They don’t just accompany the story, they amplify it.”
