King’s second book written under the Richard Bachman pseudonym is finally coming to the screen.
Lionsgate will release the long-mooted film version of THE LONG WALK in theaters September 12. Francis Lawrence (the HUNGER GAMES movies, CONSTANTINE) directed from a screenplay by JT Mollner (STRANGE DARLING), from King’s story of a group of teenagers participating in an annual event in a dystopian America. They must all walk along an interstate highway without stopping, maintaining a speed above three miles an hour; if they fall below, they get a warning, and after three warnings, they’ll be shot by soldiers pacing them along the road. Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson (ALIEN: ROMULUS), Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer and Mark Hamill star.
