The brilliant and spectacularly twisted body-horror epic is coming home.

MUBI will begin exclusively streaming THE SUBSTANCE on October 31–perfect for Halloween viewing. Acclaimed by critics and a box-office success in theaters this fall, writer/director Coralie Fargeat’s film stars Demi Moore in a career-redefining performance, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid. According to the official synopsis, Moore plays “Elisabeth Sparkle, a former A-lister past her prime and suddenly fired from her fitness TV show by repellent studio head Harvey [Quaid]. She is then drawn to the opportunity presented by a mysterious new drug: THE SUBSTANCE. All it takes is one injection and she is reborn–temporarily–as the gorgeous, 20something Sue [Qualley]. The only rule? Time needs to be split: exactly one week in one body, then one week in the other. No exceptions. A perfect balance. What could go wrong?”

See our interview with Fargeat on THE SUBSTANCE here.
