Screen terrors old and new will bring the fear to the two-day event.

This Friday-Saturday, October 18-19, the Mutant City Horror podcast and award-winning filmmaker Sean Haitz team up with Ventura County, CA’s Fillmore Town Theatre to present the first annual Happy Fright Film Festival. It kicks off Friday night with a special 16mm screening of George A. Romero’s classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD at 8 p.m., and continues Saturday from 12 p.m.-10 p.m. with the LA premiere of Matt Sampere’s CREEPING DEATH; a special screening of Samuel Gonzalez Jr. and Matthew Hersh’s NIGHT OF THE MISSING (pictured above) starring genre fave Bill Moseley and TERRIFIER’s Jenna Kanell, followed by a cast and crew Q&A moderated by Mutant City Horror; a showing of Haitz’s CANNIBAL COMEDIAN and an exclusive sneak peek at his new BELLEVUE BOB; and a variety of horror shorts. There will also be standup comedy by Pancho Moler (from Rob Zombie’s 31 and 3 FROM HELL), live music from the psychobilly punk band Six Silver Bullets, appearances by fright filmmakers and celebrities, horror vendors and a pop-up arcade. For more info, head over to the event’s official website.
