For those fortunate enough to have been a kid during the ‘80s and ‘90s, the View-Master was undoubtedly a staple in your toybox. Sharing the golden era of kickass toys with other icons like the Etch A Sketch and the Rubik’s Cube, those handheld plastic red binoculars that let you click through cardboard reels fitted with scenes from popular shows and movies topped many a Christmas list. Now, Fright-Rags is rolling back the calendar by introducing the FRIGHT-SCOPE, their take on the beloved stereoscopic 3D film viewer, and those interested can pick one up starting Tuesday, October 15th.
Each set will come with one viewer and two reels featuring assorted scenes from various horror films and will retail for $20 USD. Also available will be three additional reels representing Creepshow 2, The Monster Squad and films based on Stephen King’s work. Those will be sold individually for $12 USD each.
While Fright-Rags originally established themselves as a manufacturer and retailer of horror apparel, the brand has frequently branched out into the collectible market over the years, having put their stamp on figurines, trading cards, plush dolls and more. And just like all those items, anyone hoping to get their hands on a FRIGHT-SCOPE should stay tuned to the company’s website, as their offerings tend to sell out relatively quickly once released.
