Summer ’24 is shaping up to be quite the treasure trove for horror fans, with Osgood Perkins‘ LONGLEGS poised to be the standout feature among a field of contemporaries. For good reason, too; early screenings suggest that Oz’s latest is equal parts terrifying psychological horror and visually stunning cinematic marvel. For months, producer Neon’s drip feed of teasers, posters and casting news has enticed the genre faithful, ramping up to the film’s July 12th release. And now, with less than two weeks until opening night, the studio has released one final trailer:
Written and directed by Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel & Hansel), LONGLEGS stars Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Watcher), Nicolas Cage (also one of the producers), Alicia Witt and Blair Underwood. The synopsis reads as: “Lee Harker (Monroe), a talented new FBI agent, has been assigned to an unsolved case of a serial killer. As the investigation becomes more complicated and occult evidence is uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the ruthless killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder.”
LONGLEGS opens in theaters on July 12th. Click here for more information, and don’t forget to check out our exclusive coverage in RUE MORGUE #219, on newsstands and mobile devices now!
