With LONGLEGS building buzz for its July opening, director Osgood Perkins’ next movie now has a berth.

Neon has announced that it will release THE MONKEY in theaters nationwide February 21, 2025. Perkins also scripted the film from the short story by Stephen King, and it stars Theo James (UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING and BLOOD WARS), Tatiana Maslany (GINGER SNAPS 2: UNLEASHED, ORPHAN BLACK), Elijah Wood (MANIAC, COME TO DADDY), Christian Convery (SWEET TOOTH, COCAINE BEAR), Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell and Sarah Levy. The synopsis: “After stumbling upon their father’s vintage toy monkey in the attic, twin brothers Hal and Bill [played by James as adults and Convery as kids] witness a string of horrifying deaths unfolding around them. In an attempt to leave the haunting behind, the brothers opt to discard the monkey and pursue separate paths over time. However, when the inexplicable deaths resurface, the brothers are compelled to reconcile and embark on a mission to permanently eliminate the cursed toy.”
