The PlayStation chiller written by Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick is on its way to the big screen.
Deadline reports that up-and-coming actors Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino (no relation to the DEER HUNTER/HEAVEN’S GATE director), Ji-Young Yoo and Odessa A’zion have been cast in UNTIL DAWN, Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions’ feature version of the hit horror video game. David F. Sandberg (LIGHTS OUT, ANNABELLE: CREATION) will direct from a script by Gary Dauberman (the IT and ANNABELLE films) and Blair Butler. The game, in which eight friends are trapped in an isolated mountain retreat where they must fight for their lives, is being adapted into what is described as “an R-rated and terrifying love letter to the horror genre.”
“At PlayStation Productions, we are always looking to find creative and authentic ways to adapt our beloved games that our fans will enjoy,” says PlayStation’s Asad Qizilbash. “Alongside Screen Gems, we’ve assembled a fantastic cast of new characters that builds upon our already stellar filmmaking team and their vision for the adaptation. We’re excited to reveal more about the movie soon.”
