ARTISTRY TURNS DEADLY IN INDIE HORROR FILM “BURNT PORTRAITS”

In Norway, terror becomes artisanal in this independent horror flick that was made on the slimmest crew one could possibly acquire.

The independently produced horror film in question by ROBERTSON ROJAS PRODUCTIONS, BURNT PORTRAITS promises to put indie horror back on the map. According to the press release, the film, directed and written by Leo X Robertson and Sam Crichton boasts a crew of only two people, Leo, and his husband Juan Rojas. The release additionally states that the movie aims to recapture the “kind of unique voice and perspective only available in indie film.” Shot in black and white in the Norwegian town of Stavanger, the film premiered at the Dead Northern Film Festival in 2021.

One night after hosting a party of influencers, one of the singers from the party (Sam Crichton) awakens in the basement studio of a painter (Leo X Robertson). Despite the unusual situation and the differences between the two, they form a sort of connection. However, once the singer tries to leave, things take a creepy turn in an already weird situation.

BURNT PORTRAITS is directed, written, and stars Leo X Robertson and Sam Crichton.
