25th-anniversary “BLAIR WITCH PROJECT” screening next month, with producer on hand

The found-footage landmark will be celebrated in the Midwest.

The Victory International Film Festival, in partnership with Blood Moon Pictures, will present a special 25th-anniversary screening of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT on Friday, September 13 at Evansville, Indiana’s Showplace Cinema East. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with producer Gregg Hale, hosted by Ted Haycraft, delving into the creation and legacy of the classic terror-in-the-woods feature. Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10; they can be purchased in advance here.

“The fact that festivals still want to show the movie and people still want to see the movie after all these years is special,” Hale, who went on to produce V/H/S/2, LOVELY MOLLY, EXISTS and many others, tells RUE MORGUE. “I’m honored that people still care about this weird, little low-budget horror film we made a quarter of a century ago. We lucked our way into becoming a part of film history, and I couldn’t be more proud of BLAIR and its legacy.”
