“TERRIFIER” films’ David Howard Thornton leads the cast of Mickey Mouse horror film “SCREAMBOAT”

The man who is Art the Clown is turning another mirthful figure murderous.

The team behind SCREAMBOAT, a gory horror/comedy taking off on the character of Steamboat Willie (a.k.a. Mickey Mouse), has announced the film’s ensemble, led by David Howard Thornton from the TERRIFIER films. He’s joined by Allison Pittel, Amy Schumacher, Jesse Posey, Jesse Kove, Rumi C Jean-Louis and horror veterans Jarlath Conroy (George A. Romero’s DAY OF THE DEAD) and Charles Edwin Powell (THE EXORCIST III). A number of cameo appearances will be announced in the near future. The synopsis: “SCREAMBOAT follows a group of New Yorkers on a late-night ferry ride that turns deadly when a mischievous mouse begins a rampage, targeting unsuspecting passengers. The unlikely crew must band together to thwart the murderous menace before their relaxing commute turns into a nightmare.”

Steven LaMorte, who previously teamed with Thornton to turn the Grinch even more evil in THE MEAN ONE, will direct SCREAMBOAT, and produces with that film’s Schumacher and Martine Melloul, along with TERRIFIER’s Steven Della Salla and Michael Leavy. Christian Beckman’s Quantum Creation FX, Inc. (THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER) is creating the gore and the lead creature, designed by concept artist Christian Cordella (SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME). Iconic Events will release the movie to theaters In 2025.
