An eerie real-life setting inspired this thriller that appears to have paranormal overtones.

CADDO LAKE, which has M. Night Shyamalan as one of its producers, debuts Thursday, October 10 on Max. Written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George, it stars Dylan O’Brien, Eliza Scanlen, Diana Hopper, Caroline Falk, Sam Hennings, Eric Lange and Lauren Ambrose. The synopsis: “When an eight-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes, a series of past deaths and disappearances start to link together, forever altering a broken family’s history.” According to Max’s PR, “The inspiration for CADDO LAKE was sparked after filmmakers Celine Held and Logan George came across a photograph of the real Caddo Lake online, leading to many visits to the cypress forest that rests on the border of Texas and Louisiana.” Also part of the producing team are Ashwin Rajan, Kara Durrett and Josh Godfrey.
