A rarely screened 3D fright film by legendary director Joe Dante will be shown in all its dimensional glory at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Boulevard), with the filmmaker in attendance.

The screening of THE HOLE, in which two young brothers discover a portal to a supernatural realm in the basement of their new home, will take place this Friday, November 30 at 7:30. Dante (pictured below), the master of horror behind THE HOWLING, GREMLINS and others, will take part in a Q&A session hosted by his longtime friend, filmmaker John Landis. (Tickets can be purchased at Fandango or via the Chinese Theatre’s website.) Mark L. Smith (VACANCY, OVERLORD) scripted THE HOLE, which stars Chris Massoglia, Haley Bennett, Nathan Gamble, Teri Polo and Bruce Dern.

This special presentation is the first in a series of forthcoming events tied to Untold Horror, a multimedia brand devoted to revealing unmade or lost films by genre moviemakers. Spearheaded by former RUE MORGUE editor-in-chief Dave Alexander, filmmaker Mark Pollesel and co-producers Bob Barrett and Kevin Burke, the franchise is anchored by a documentary series that’s currently in development with veteran TV producer Mark Wolper (SALEM’S LOT) and filmmaker Tim Sullivan (2001 MANIACS).
