Magic: The Gathering is doubling down on their horror efforts for the upcoming spooky season. While the forthcoming Duskmourn: House of Horror  will unleash a full-tilt horror-themed expansion featuring hundreds of original designs on September 27th, an unmistakably familiar face will enter the multiverse just mere days later.

SECRET LAIR X CHUCKY, created through a collaboration with Universal Products and Experiences, drops on September 30th and reimagines previously released cards and characters from the game as images from the Chucky universe.

Included in the set are:

  • 1x Kardur, Doomscourge (double-faced card) as Chucky
  • 1x Twinflame as Friends to the End
  • 1x Phyrexian Reclamation as Sorry Jack … Chucky’s Back!
  • 1x Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire as Tiffany, Bride of Chucky
  • 1x Genesis Chamber as Play Pals Factory

Secret Lair collections are abbreviated expansions released in limited quantities and are highly sought after by collectors. SECRET LAIR X CHUCKY continues Wizards of the Coast’s trend of infusing iconic horror properties into the ultra-popular collectible card game, which saw both Creepshow and Evil Dead join in 2023. SECRET LAIR X CHUCKY will be priced at $29.99 USD, with a Foil Edition available at $39.99 USD. Both will be available while supplies last at MagicSecretLair.com starting September 30th.

Ever since watching CREEPSHOW as a child, Kevin Hoover has spent a lifetime addicted to horror (and terrified of cockroaches). He wholeheartedly believes in the concept of reanimating the dead if only we’d give it the old college try, and thinks FRIDAY THE 13th PART V is the best in the franchise. Aside from writing “Cryptid Cinema Chronicles” for Rue Morgue, he’s been a working copywriter for over a decade and you’ve probably bought something with his words on it. He also believes even the worst movie can be improved with buckets of gore.
