Rue Morgue Digital
Our computer overlords have been tetchy lately. There are some technical problems with the digital edition of RM#132 for both iDevices and Android, and we’re hard at work with our digital service provider to resolve them. We’re aware of the “missing xml file” error message some readers are getting; if you’re having a different problem, please send a detailed description of the glitch to email@example.com.
Thank you for your patience while we get this sorted out! We’ll keep you updated as we get the situation resolved.
Since August 2010, Rue Morgue has been committed to translating everything you love about the print version of your favourite horror magazine to platforms accessible worldwide, including a desktop edition for PC and Mac, and as an app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. We’ve embedded audio and video highlights and exclusive content in order to take readers “beyond the page,” and delivered it in advance of newsstands.
You know how creepy stuff has a way of going global? We’ve seen it time and time again: something scary goes down in a farmhouse in Pennsylvania or an apartment building in Barcelona and before you can say “They’re coming for you, Barbara!” the horror has spread to every corner of the world and you just can’t get away from it.
Well, it’s kind of like that with Rue Morgue. The Rue Crew spends way too much time sequestered in dark corners of the House of Horror in Toronto, but that hasn’t stopped us from stretching our shadowy tendrils across borders – and oceans. It is with great pleasure that we introduce our United Kingdom Facebook page, Rue Morgue UK. If you live in the United Kingdom or even if you’re just a fan of UK horror, head on over there and “like” the new page – you’ll get updates on all manner of creepy UK culture, and you might even win a spiffy digital subscription to Rue Morgue.
And, since horror is a multi-lingual affair, you can keep tabs on us en français on our new French-language Facebook page, Rue Morgue France. L’horreur!
In advance of our Fright Night issue hitting newsstands August 1, click past the jump and let this month’s trailer put you in a vampiric trance with all the ghoulish goods is has to share. Can’t wait? The digital edition for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, PC and Mac is available now! Visit yudu.com for the desktop version or the Apple App Store for all other platforms.
We’re pleased as pixelated punch to announce that Rue Morgue Digital is now only $4.99 per single issue! You still get all of the bonus video, audio and book content you’ve come to expect from the first eleven issues of RM Digital – including the absolutely free 13th anniversary “Black 100” issue – but at a new low price that won’t slaughter your piggy bank. Try out RM Digital for PC and Mac at the Yudu digital newsstand or download the Rue Morgue app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch from the Apple App Store.
In our ongoing quest to just plain make things better, Dear Reader, two new features have recently been added to Rue Morgue Digital for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and PC/Mac. First, the search function has been modified to be more user-friendly and a lot more useful, and second, you can now spread the madness by giving your buddies a friendly heads-up to articles in the mag that you think they would dig.
If you still haven’t given Rue Morgue Digital a whirl, what are ya waitin’ for? You can check out a 16-page preview of any of the last ten issues here or in the iTunes App Store, AND we offer last year’s 13th Anniversary Black 100 issue (which is totally out-of-print and sold out in printed form, by the way) in its entirety, plus loads of bonus digital content (approximately 100 instances as a matter of fact…yeah, we’ve clever like that) completely free!
That’s right, gang…we’ve started blowing the dust off of classic RM mags and are pleased as spiked punch to announce the release of the first digital back issue ‒ last year’s sold-out Special Edition “Black 100” – absolutely FREE! Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, March 15), we’re making this milestone issue available at no charge for PC and Mac desktops through the Yudu digital newsstand (Yudu.com) and as an app for iPad, iPhone, and iTouch.
