Who is Rock Baker?
I might have to get this copy at the store as I'm not sure wether my Re-Sub will have kicked in or not since it was shipped out just before the holidays.

Congrats Monica!
I'm stoked about Daybreakers. I've heard so much about it, and shall be experiencing it on Friday. I don't have this month's issue yet (last month arrived around the 18th again, but Canada Post sucks ass this time of year) - I'm sort of hoping I don't get until after Friday. I'd be too tempted to read the cover story, and I don't want to do that until I see the movie.

King and Cronenberg together? I can die a happy man now.
Big thumbs up on reviewing Sigh. It's awesome to see Audiodrome branching out beyond Soundtracks and Psychobilly.

I haven't gotten an issue since Halloween. I also haven't gotten a response to my emails regarding my subscription. This is the first time I've had bad service like this.

Any word on late shipments?
I haven't gotten mine yet, this month.
I'm pretty much figuring that the mail man got caught in the snow somewhere and is right now clawing his way out of a drift with my copy of Rue Morgue tucked safely in the waistband of his long-johns.
On second thought...he can keep it.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. While it's not the pleasure-center overload that the previous issue was, it's a solid read thus far nonetheless.

Good to see Dr. Mark Ryan getting a mention in the magazine, (we call him Dr. Horror). I understand he rushed out yesterday and bought several copies.
Perhaps you might consider approaching him about contributing an article on Australian horror for a future issue, he certainly knows his stuff.

Who did the cover this issue? Great cover, is it poster art or the work of a RM artist? I don't have my sub issue yet, so I can't see the credits for it.

This issue has sold out in Brisbane, no doubt because it features Daybreakers on the cover and despite Borders charging a whacking $27 AU for a copy.

That's harsh! What's the relative cost of things in Australia compared to Canada? For example, here a 'packet of crisps' is $1.29, a pepperoni pizza slice $3, a trip on public transportation $3, a McDonald's combo $6, a new paperback $10-12, a spindle of quality CD-Rs $13, the new Beatles CDs $15, the latest mainstream DVDs $22, etc.

We get hammered on imports and Borders gauge and charge the most for even domestic books and magazines. I pay $20 AU at a comic store for the magazine 2 minutes walk away. A new DVD is around $30 but if you wait they quickly come down in price, though for a new one it often works out cheaper to order from abroad. For some reason we don't get all the extras and have to await a "special edition" before the are included.

Mark, you still have borders? as in borders books? Every single one in england has closed down! waterstones is now the ONLY major books store around. Like HMV is now the only one as zaavi(formally virgin) closed and is just mail order website now.

I'm aware of that, they are apparently seperate entities to the parent company, we still have Woolies too but in Oz it is a supermarket.
Borders seems to be doing OK downunder as far as I can tell.

We tend to get hammered on imports as well, although marked up items from the States are not as bad it used to be even just a few years earlier. Currency values and increased competition excepted. Still, the outright theivery perpetrated by some chains and independents makes me thankful for online sellers. There's one particular indie in a nearby suburb that still charges double the U.S retail for certain small label DVDs. It's no surprise that the the owner is a semiretarded 50 something geriatric who's apparently never heard of the internet.

Mail Woes
Hey Jason,
Drop me a line via email because, as you can probably see, I don't get a chance to jump on the forums every day (as much as I would like to).
In your case, your mag was shipped over a month ago and you need to contact me through the proper channels so I can send you a replacement.
Same goes for anyone else who might be experiencing delivery issues. Thanks!!

...one more word on spam filters:
I have tweaked my email a little so hopefully the delivery rate on my replies can be as close to 100% as possible, but just a reminder to check your spam settings and junk folders if you are waiting on mail from Rue Morgue. (Yahoo accounts seem to spam me the most.)
Thanks again and keep the feedback coming!
