On this installment of the Production Diaries for THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH, we continue to sing the praises of the unsung heroes of the film crew.
Meet Chris Rowles, genny op extraordinare. David Dollard, location manager and rabid horror fan. And last and possibly least, Rue Morgue’s own Tal Zimerman whose spectacular ascendency in the film biz began with lead actor in Rue Morgue’s first short film and quickly rose to the coveted position of catering attendant on the next one.
These guys are as instrumental to the movie as anyone else, the invisible hands that make light work. Appreciate.

On the next two installments of the Production Diaries for THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH, we celebrate some of the unsung heroes of the film crew.
Usually, it’s the director, writer, actors and major department heads that get all the accolades but as we all know, filmmaking is a collaborative effort that requires a team of specialized personnel across the board. And especially on a small, tight crew like the one on Rosalind Leigh, every professional on set is essential to the process.
So on this episode, we give it up for sound recordist Laura Radcliffe, script supervisor Marta Borowski and data management tech Ben Levine. (And special thanks as well to Ben on behalf of the ‘behind the scenes’ crew for all his help!)
Stay tuned for more episodes of the Production Diaries.

On this installment of the production diaries, we point the lens at the writer & director of THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH, Mr. Rodrigo Gudiño.
The man behind the Rue Morgue empire comes clean on his penchant for ‘religious horror,’ his inspiration for the movie and the current status of his ‘long in the works’ splatter Western CUT THROAT’S NINE.
Enjoy!

Principal photography has begun on Rue Morgue Cinema’s first feature film – THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH, written and directed by Rue Morgue Publisher Rodrigo Gudino.
I spent the day on set shooting ‘behind the scenes’ stuff with the talented Michael J. Jasen. Everything appeared to run like clockwork and we were absolutely FLOORED by the location. We couldn’t believe the house they were shooting in!
So keep your eyes peeled to the THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH facebook page for more updates and for our ‘Production Diaries’ which will commence on Thursday and run regularly throughout the entire three week shoot.

All the pieces are falling into place for Rue Morgue Cinema’s first feature film. The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, written and directed by RM founder Rodrigo Gudiño, has found its Visual Effects Supervisor in the form of Anthony Scott Burns, former Senior Designer at MTV Canada. Burns turned plenty of heads earlier this year with his Tron: Destiny fan film, which you can watch after the jump.
“I had so many ideas for what we could do with the FX as soon as I read Rodrigo’s script, that I just had to be a part of this film,” says Burns, who is also the mind behind the Toronto-based electronic act Pilotpriest. He is slated to direct his first feature film later this year.

With shooting on Rue Morgue Cinema’s debut feature – Rodrigo Gudiño’s The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh – beginning in Toronto this October, the production has just announced Aaron Poole will play the film’s protagonist, Leon Leigh, an antiques collector who inherits a house from his deceased mother only to discover that she had been living in a shrine devoted to a mysterious cult of angels.
“Rodrigo’s script is terrifying, stylish, and ultimately surprisingly moving,” says Poole. “I’m really proud to be working with him on Rue Morgue Cinema’s first feature.”
Considering Poole’s reputation as being a fearless performer, the fact that the script scared him is high praise indeed. The character actor – who previously received critical acclaim, a Genie nomination and a Best Actor ACTRA Award for his role as a cracked-out street hustler in Ed Gass-Donnelly’s This Beautiful City, and starred opposite Peter Stormare, Martha Plimpton and Jill Hennessy in Small Town Murder Songs – can be regularly spotted in episodes of TMN’s Z.O.S.: Zone of Separation, HBO Canada’s Living in Your Car, episodes of CTV’s Flashpoint and CBC’s Republic of Doyle, and as a series regular in Shaw Media’s new series King. He also has a supporting lead role in the upcoming Samuel L. Jackson film, The Samaritan.

The film division of Rue Morgue has just announced RM head ghoul Rodrigo Gudiño, who has also written and directed several award-winning short films, has officially begun production on his first full-length feature, The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh. Scheduled for a 2012 release, the film centres on an antiques collector who inherits a house from his estranged mother only to discover that she had been living in a shrine devoted to a mysterious cult of angels.
“I’m exploring new ways of telling a story,” says Rodrigo. “This film will be ambitious in this regard, and I expect it will linger afterwards, especially when audiences find themselves alone in their home.”
Set to shoot in October, the movie will be lensed by cinematographer Derek Rogers (Cube, Resident Evil: Apocalypse) and feature FX work by Kyle Glencross (300, Dawn of the Dead remake, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World).
A psychologically haunting slow-burn, Rosalind Leigh will be followed by Rodrigo’s highly anticipated remake of the violent Spanish western Cut Throats Nine.
