Gary Pullin is RUE MORGUE’s Art Director and resident scribbling deviation of nature. He cut his teeth on The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, Universal Monsters, splatter films of the ’80s and the films of Vincent Price. Gary is the man behind RUE MORGUE’s now infamous logo and currently heads up all aspects of RM’s lurid layout and design.

Sweet mother slug, look at that poster! Illustrator and RM Nightmare Gallery contributor Jason Edmiston was commissioned by Fright Rags to commemorate their very special screening of Fred Dekker’s ’80s horror classics Monster Squad and Night of the Creeps. Screening Saturday July 17, at Rochester’s Dryden Theatre, creator Fred Dekker and Tom Atkins will both be in attending to talk about the making of the films. RM’s Justin Erickson and I will be heading down to check out the screenings and hang out with the folks at Fright Rags central for the day.

Well known for their work in gray scale, miniature artist Jason D’Aquino and tattoo guru and gallery owner Paul Booth have teamed up to present a gallery show of black and gray artwork featuring some of the worlds top artist and illustrators. Art fanatics can expect to see works by Chet Zar, Ron English, The Pizz, Chris Marrs, Tara McPherson, Robert Williams (one of the first pioneer’s behind the “lowbrow” art movement and founder of Juxtapoz Magazine) and a ton more. The press release boasts “This is show will be an opportunity for artists to reach within the darkest realms of their imaginations, and display their most raw and uncensored work to-date.”

The fine film making team of Larry Fessenden and Glenn McQuaid (I Sell The Dead, Wendigo), have announced a wickedly cool project called Tales From Beyond the Pale. The Pale Men plan to bring horror fans original horror audio drama’s, hosted by Larry Fessenden, with the first episodes available for download this Halloween. I was asked to come on board to develop the logo (pictured) and poster art to accompany each tale. I’m very excited to be a part of the Pale team and the roster of talent writing episodes is some great company to be in. I may have just beat Dave by a spider hair with this post but we’re pretty excited to hear that Alice Cooper is planning to record a sequel to Welcome To My Nightmare with original producer Bob Ezrin.
Earlier plans to release a new concept album called “The Night Shift”, in which Alice plays a mysterious DJ host on a dark radio show, has been shelved.
