Canadian director Rob Stefaniuk’s vampire music comedy Suck — about a loserish Canadian rock & roll band (called The Winners. Ha ha) that suddenly finds success when its members become vampires — had its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and screens again this Friday, June 18, at 9:45 p.m. at Toronto’s Bloor Theatre as part of this weekend’s NXNE music conference. Alliance will handle the Canadian release, which should be later this year.

Horror fans will appreciate the grisly kills (watch out for an inventive use of a straw) while music fans will love the multiple music cameos from the likes of Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, Moby, Carole Pope, Alex Lifeson and Dimitri Coats from the Burning Brides in a lead role as Queeny the vampire.
