“People have pointed out for a long time that a lot of our moral values seem driven by emotion, and in particular, disgust appears to be one of those emotions that seems to be recruited for moral judgments,” said Pizarro.
That can have tragic effects — as in cases throughout history where minorities have been victims of discrimination by groups that perceived them as having disgusting characteristics.
Or it means that you’re just, like, a big friggin’ wuss-baby.

FWIW – here’s one (political and social) conservative who likes a heaping helping of the grue in my flicks. Statistics are tricky things… numbers can be tortured into telling pretty much any story you want ‘em to.
So Conservatives are easily grossed out by the torturing of “terror suspects” without trial in secret prisons — to the point of finding such torture intolerable?
Well, that’s a relief…
