Found this 7″ in a bin at a used record store in my neighbourhood recently, for a buck!
I’d forgotten (or purged from my memory) that the J. Geils band did the Fright Night theme. Guess after “Centrefold” they were a hot horror commodity! As a bonus — and they don’t advertise this anywhere on the sleeve — the B-side is “Boppin’ Tonight” by The Fontaines.
Also, the back of the sleeve reminds you to buy the paperback from TOR — go cross-marketing.
I think this will probably go on my wall before on my turntable.

That song is only matched in 1980′s coolness/shittiness by Michael Sembello’s “Rock Until You Drop” from Monster Squad.
That would fit perfectly with my Trick Or Treat soundtrack LP!
I saw the music video for “fright night” on youtube a while back and lost my shit, it’s insane!
Great post!
Lucky bastard, my Bowie’s Underground (from the movie Labyrinth) looks really pale in comparaison.
Well, won’t you enjoy my upcoming Blood Spattered Guide segment on this very (scary) topic!
There is a copy of the Fright Night soundtrack on soundtracksandmore.blogspot.com/2008/11/fright-night-1985-brad-fiedel-and.html
I didn’t D/L it, but Liisa said it was near impossible to find. Is it worth checking out?
