Worst Case War of the Dead Scenario

Check out the teaser trailer for War of the Dead, a Finnish WWII-set zombie movie. As filmmakers keep mining the subgenre, we’re probably going to see more historical zombie flicks. This one has promise. More info and a link to a higher-res trailer at Twitch Film. It’s directed by a Finn named Marko Mäkilaakso, and judging by his IMDb page, he knows what he’s doing.

The trailer also reminds me of Worst Case Scenario, the much talked about Nazi zombie flick that’s been in development for a while. According to the official site, it’s still in preproduction and shooting this year (there’s an HD version of the trailer there too). It would be probably inappropriate to say I’ve got a zombie-Nazi movie boner over this thing, but, damn, I hope it finally gets made.

Watch it again:

“Fear has a new temperature.” HAHAHAHAHAHA. But the movie looks good.

Worst Case Scenario has been in “pre-prodcution for like 3 and a half years! No kidding.

War of the Dead looks eh. They opted for kick splody in their first trailer. I hope there’s another focused on the story elements.

    WCS looks very interesting.

“In the absence of light, darkness prevails.” A sound bite lifted from John Hurt in Hellboy used in the trailer? WTF? Other than that, my only complaint about this trailer is…a complete lack of “the dead”! The cinematography looks phenomenal, though, so I’ll definitely give it a whirl.

I’m in total agreement with you about Worse Case Scenario. I’m thinking we’ll have a worthwhile Romero “dead” sequel before we see this bad boy.

That WCS trailer was the coolest trailer I had seen at the time. Nazi zombies falling from the sky will always get my vote.
War of the Dead could be cool, but I agree that the trailer needs to show us more.

Both look interesting. I like the WCS trailer best of the two.
