October Shadows Art Show

The Rue Morgue art team invades this year’s October Shadows art show, which takes place this Sunday, October 2nd, in L.A. at the Mountain View Mausoleum (yes, where they filmed Phantasm). This is their fourth year, and it’s sure to be the best. No word yet on a collected art book but we’ll keep you posted. Drew Struzan, Rick Baker, Gris Grimly, Eric Pigors, Bruce Spaulding Fuller are just some of the artists displaying their Halloween inspired goods.

Jason D’Aquino’s latest miniature masterpieces

Once in a while I’ll get an email from Jason with his latest monstrous miniatures. I’ve been saving a few so I could share these typically astounding new pieces. Rue readers will have seen
Jason’s work in our Nightmare Gallery special art feature (RM#100) and our artful tribute to Vincent Price’s 100th anniversary in RM#111.

Rue Morgue Cover Contest Winners!
Now that the Dallas dust has settled and the sound of chainsaws are are all but a distant buzz, I’d like to announce the winners of our Rue Morgue Cover contest we held at this year’s Texas Frightmare Weekend. Entries were coming faster than you can say “Dog will hunt!” all weekend and I was astounded by the amount of creativity and the diversity in design on display. I will say it was tough to pick three, so I’m including some honourable mentions that warmed the cockles of our cold, dead hearts.
