As one half of the Caustic Critics, Stuart Feedback Andrews has been contributing interviews and reviews to Rue Morgue Radio since March, 2005. He''s also the host of Cinephobia Radio, a movie-themed podcast that features prolonged interrogations of well-known film personalities. Beyond that, Feedback is also very funny, dashingly handsome and absolutely fantastic in bed! And he''s a big fan of writing about himself in the third person, present tense.

In the second part of the Rue Morgue Podcast video interview, veteran make-up artist, sculptor and teacher, DON LANNING discusses working with Steve Weng and Patrick Tatopoulos on the Underworld films, Spectral Motion and Guillermo del Toro on Hellboy, J.J. Abrams on Star Trek (2009), Wayne Toth and Rob Zombie on Halloween II and Joel Harlow on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
I sent Slippy the Rue Morgue Podcast’s 100 ESSENTIAL ALTERNATIVE HORROR FILMS list as selected by listeners of the show and asked him to pick five titles that tickled his winkle. The rest, as they say, is history.
This episode is required viewing for anyone interested in pursuing a career in special effects make-up!
He’s best known for his 1971 classic THE LAST PICTURE SHOW starring Timothy Bottoms, Jeff Bridges and the indescribable Cybil Sheppard but for my more macabre tastes, I’ll always think more fondly of his debut feature, the Roger Corman produced 1968 modern horror masterpiece TARGETS starring Boris Karloff in what was not only his last great performance on screen but one of the most fascinating performances of his entire career.
I sent Mr. Felsher from Red Shirt Pictures a link to the Rue Morgue Podcast’s 100 ESSENTIAL ALTERNATIVE HORROR FILMS as selected by listeners of the show. I asked him to pick five films that tickle his winkle and the rest, as they say, is history.
More war stories from such flicks and TV shows as Wrong Turn, Land of the Dead, The Hobbit, The Evil Dead Remake, Hemlock Grove, Beauty and the Beast, the Dawn of the Dead Remake and working with the likes of Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor, George Romero, Stan Winston, Fede Alvarez & Dr. Uwe Boll!
Feedback interrogates Peter Strickland, director of Berberian Sound Studio, the disorienting descent of a British sound engineer into an existential nightmare after traveling to Italy to work on a horror film. Sorry, a ‘Santini’ film!
Just one of the many LAST CHANCE LAMPISMS you’ll hear on this episode….
“I totally appreciate these people and I wish that other people did too, including myself.”
This list is jammed with masterpieces and disasterpieces alike but however you slice it, it’s a juicy collection of tantalizing horror flicks, many of which don’t get the recognition they deserve (if they get any at all).
