The Yeti (aka the Abominable Snowman) is, of course, the Bigfoot-like creature said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet. Stories of this ape-beast first came to the attention of Westerners in the 19th century. Since then, numerous explorers have tried to capture or otherwise prove that the creature exists, while filmmakers have cranked out snow-shovel loads of horror movies inspired by the subject.
