Monstro Bizarro: Legendary Monsters Campaign Update

I recently posted about the funding campaign for the extremely cool LEGENDARY MONSTERS figure set.  Toy designer, Richard Todd Broadwater, has just informed me that there have been some great developments, which will allow the producers to fund this project for far less than the original goal.

LEGENDARY MONSTERS is a line of action figures based on “monsters of urban legend and folklore.” Many of you will also recognize these figures as famous cryptozoology creatures: Mothman, Chupacabra, Jersey Devil, and the Missouri Monster (Momo). As fan of cryptozoo monsters and horror toys, I gotta say these are some extremely cool figures!  Each of the four monsters comes with an eyewitness account right on the package! Each monster features 10-12 points of articulation and stands 5-7″ tall.

I saw photos of the creature designs several years ago and tried to track them down, only to find that they had never actually been produced. I’ve written a previous blog entry on the subject of Momo, so the thought of an action figure based on this character – as well as the rest of them – was certainly wishful thinking… until now. It has been a long road for Broadwater to make these a reality, something that he explains in more detail on the LEGENDARY MONSTERS Kickstarter page.
