New horror and sci-fi convention, Fatality Fest, is launching a short filmmaking competition as part of their festivities taking place this June in West Palm Beach, FL. Submissions for Fatality Fear Fest are now open to up-and-coming filmmakers with original genre shorts (under 20 minutes).

All shorts will be judged by actor/writer/producer/director Scott Spiegel, who is also a special guest at the convention. His top five picks will be screened on Sunday June 9, 2013, where it’s then up to the audience to decide a winner.

The inaugural Fatality Fest guest line-up will include Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination), Camille Keaton (I Spit on your Grave), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Butch Patrick (The Munsters), Timothy Patrick Quill (Army of Darkness), John Dugan (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) among others.
