Cryptic Collectibles: New Hammer Horror Figures Released!
If you’re a Hammer Horror fan, you’ll definitely want to take a look at a new series of custom-made collectible figures that are just being made available for sale. The figures – which are produced by an independent company named Distinctive Dummies – are part of a line dubbed “Mego Style,” and are made in the vein of 8-inch tall figures released by iconic toymaker Mego during the 1970s and early ’80s.
The series is comprised of four releases: Christopher Lee as Dracula, the Mummy and the Creature from 1957′s The Curse of the Frankenstein; and Oliver Reed’s tortured lycanthrope from 1961′s The Curse of the Werewolf. The figures – which are being produced in very small quantities of only 50 apiece – feature highly detailed head sculpts and fabric outfits and are being packaged on beautifully illustrated bubble cards.
Two of the figures – Dracula and the Mummy – are slated for release this week, at the price of $75 each (which includes worldwide shipping). For more information on these and the company’s other great custom action figures (including several 12-inch Hammer and Amicus-styled figures), go to:
