Eli Roth to present Cannibal Ferox at TIFF Bell Lightbox

Over the years, it’s been known by many names (okay, technically only three). In Australia it was Woman from Deep River; US audiences got to say, “Make Them Die Slowly, please” when they shelled out their bucks for tickets back in the halcyon days of the gooey-floored grindhouse. Today we just call it Cannibal Ferox, and it’s coming to Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox for one show only on Monday, July 30. The uncut version of Umberto Lenzi’s 1981 gorefest will be presented in person by Cabin Fever and Hostel director Eli Roth. The festivities begin at 6pm; after the screening, Midnight Madness programmer Colin Geddes will moderate a Q&A with Roth.

(Oh, and that new girl you’re dating — the one who organizes fundraisers for PETA and makes her pet pig wear a sailor uniform? Don’t bring her, it won’t go well.)
