Because I’ve been setting up a new website, things are a wee bit delayed, but below is the latest tally of new & upcoming horror/fantasy/exploitation titles coming out on CD & LP.

What’s the site, you say? Well, ’tis called Big Head Amusements, and it’s partly an archive for various media materials original & curated, including interviews, audience Q&As, and podcasts. My next podcast will feature David Schecter, Monstrous Movie Music’s co-producer / bigwig whose latest roster includes Rocketship X-M, Kronos, and The Cosmic Man. It should be up by the end of next week, alongside reviews of these swell soundtracks.

Also of note: The Exorcist has been turned into a stage play, and it may just work, since the focus isn’t to recapture the film’s wet bile but extrapolate on the moral and faith conflcits within William Blatty’s novel. Still, with Brooke Shields and Richard Chamberlain playing mother Chris MacNeil and Father Merrin, respectively, plus ‘magic’ trickery by Teller of Penn & Teller, who knows what’ll emerge when the play begins previews July 3 at the Geffen Playhouse.
