Yet another sasquatch related movie is on the hairy horizon.  This time it looks to be a pretty good entry called THROWBACK.  The story will take place in Australia which is said to be the home of a legendary bigfoot-like creature known as the Yowie.  Here’s the details and a teaser trailer:

Throwback is Travis Bain’s second feature film. His first, Scratched, was one of the four finalists in the Australia/New Zealand digiSPAA 2005 Digital Feature Film Competition.

Throwback is a horror/survival/adventure film set in the remote jungles of Far North Queensland.

The movie is an homage to drive-in creature features of the ’70s, especially The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) and Creature from Black Lake (1976).  Throwback also draws inspiration from the westerns of Anthony Mann and Budd Boetticher, other ’70s classics such as Deliverance, the films of Walter Hill, William Girdler and Terrence Malick, jungle adventure films like Run for the Sun and The Bridge on the River Kwai, and the genius of Technicolor maestro Jack Cardiff (The African Queen, Dark of the Sun).

Throwback is due for completion in 2013.
