It’s the first of a special two-part episode of POST APOCALYPSE. On this installment, Last Chance Lance (sans squirrel) returns to the podcast in spectacular fashion to read some of the comments and emails we received in response to the demise of Rue Morgue Radio.

On the upcoming episode, we’ll reveal the winners of the final Rue Morgue Radio contest wherein we asked the listeners to list their favourite Caustic Critics segment.

These are epic.

Endure,

:- FDBK

Responses to POST APOCALYPSE – RUE MORGUE RADIO

  1. Andrea says:

Sigh, if I had a nickel for every time I was confused with Asia Argento! Haha, I wish.

Lance, you jackass, we met at the Festival of Fear last summer! It took me a week to wash off the stink of your oozing charm.

  2. FEEDBACK says:

I think he’s mistaken you for any number of other females who’ve dismissed him outright. ;)

  3. The Gore-met says:

LOL! Most of the time I listened to Rue Morgue Radio like Lance!

  4. Mike Tank says:

Christ, can Lance get ANYTHING right?

Uma Thurman was NOT in THE FIFTH ELEMENT. It was Milla Jovovich.

But to be fair, I was also confused and thought that Andrea Subissati was the girl from Argento’s PHENOMENA. So I take back all the nice things I said about her since they were obviously meant for DARIA NICOLODI who was in PHENOMENA…NOT Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni! (Though Coralina WAS in MOTHER OF TEARS, so at least he got that one right.)

    Ahem.

Anyway, it was seriously a lot of fun to hear you 2 back at it again. The Caustic Critics theme at the open of the show was yet another painful reminder of what we RMR fans are still dearly missing. The only upside is that I’ll never, ever have to hear about RATLINE, directed by Eric Stanze and starring Emily Hack and Jason Christ, ever again. ;)

But this regular RM podcast is terrific, so keep ‘em coming.

Also, I LOVE Lance’s “Ask The Embalmer” idea. And that “Ask A Mortician” clip you played was absolutely hysterical. Love that Casio theme! And “Caitlyn” sounds HOT. I need to find this show.

This episode was also a great reminder for me that I’ve missed a few eps while laid up in the hospital recently. So it’s catch-up time. I’m already cringing just thinking about Lance’s Danielle Harris Q&A.

Anyway, looking forward to part 2. AND looking forward BIG TIME to The Mortuary! A huge thanks to Feedback and the others involved in the creation of this new site.

Finally, that guy who requested the all-Stephen King show was just plain WRONG….CHRISTINE is a classic!

  5. FEEDBACK says:

Gore-Met! Do you mean to say that you fast forwarded over my lovalee interview segments like that heathen LANCE did? No wonder he remains so willfully misinformed! To think, all those years, he coulda learned a thing or two. ;)

    Ahem.

Actually, that was MY fault. I meant OPERA. Coralina plays the seamstress who gets picked off by the killer.

As for who Lance was referring to…..I have no idea but it wasn’t Coralina and it certainly wasn’t Andrea. Maybe it was Jamie Lee Curtis?

    I suppose there’s a silver lining in every cloud….

Also, I LOVE Lance’s “Ask The Embalmer” idea.

Yeah, but he obviously stole that from the “Ask A Mortician” show (which you can find on YOUTUBE.

Anyway, looking forward to part 2. AND looking forward BIG TIME to The Mortuary!

Yes. The Mortuary is just a few inches away from the finishing line. Expect news soon.

Thanks for listening and thanks for taking the time to post your comments.

  7. Owen Garth says:

I did start tearing up during this episode, but that could just be the hydrochloric acid fumes in the air. You two are just as good at reviewing art as you are movies.

It’s good that Lance can get all the voices in his head out in the open. It’s all part of the healing process.

  8. Alexandra says:

Although it makes me sad to see Rue Morgue Radio shuffle off this mortal coil, I’m happy that I’ll be able to get a weekly podcast fix. I must admit I got a thrill hearing my letter read out. I think this podcast is outstanding week after week (with the Vanishing and my sometimes editor Heidi Honeycutt being particularly great episodes), so onwards and upwards and “up and Atom!”

  9. FDBK says:

Alexandra! And you got lucky it was my turn to read a letter and NOT Lance’s! ;)
Not sure how thrilled you’d be to hear your letter in the voice of William Shatner.

  10. FDBK says:

Demon! Thanks again for the painting. I’ll post pictures soon…..

  11. Owen Garth says:

Well like I said, I was inspired to depravity. I really hope Rue Morgue Radio can win the Rondo for Lance, but if not I will carve/sculpt something special just for him…

  12. FDBK says:

That reminds me…I forgot to send out the final warning for the RONDOS….

Damn. I hope everyone voted because the polls are now closed.

By the way, thanks to RM web developer JJ MIFSUD for fixing the images in this post for me.

  13. Dark Mark says:

Ask a mortician? Heh heh, let’s do that.

  14. Alexandra says:

You’re absolutely right. Though, those imitations made me feel less bad that Lance doesn’t know who I am.

  15. Dark Mark says:

Lance, I understand that the process of decay causes bodies to become bloated with gas and flatulent. I was wondering if this is unintentionally hilarious or hideously ghastly and have you ever blamed it on a corpse? I have a million questions like this.

  16. Feedback says:

This is a great question! I think what we’ll do is while we’ll have a thread on the new forum for this very issue, we’ll actually read them to Lance on the podcast and get his responses that way.

  17. Feedback says:

In fact, the next contest I think will be the “ASK THE EMBALMER” contest.

  18. Nick English says:

Shame on me for dropping the ball on Ratline. I don’t have an excuse. I’ve had plenty of time to watch it. I guess I just chose instead to watch movies I could reasonably expect to enjoy.

Also, since Lance signed the plastic wrapping, I’m hesitant to open it. Wouldn’t want to diminish its resale value on eBay.

  19. Corby Daniel says:

Great show. Really enjoyed hearing you guys again. However, I’m ashamed that when listing the good Stephen King movie adaptations (of which there are admittedly not that many) you failed to mention David Cronenberg’s The Dead Zone and Brian De Palma’s Carrie, which are probably the best two. (Technically, while The Shining is a fantastic film, it’s a poor adaptation, since the source material was kind of gutted.)
