I’m proud to announce the release of my first book, THE BEAST OF BOGGY CREEK, available from Anomalist Books!
Due in part to my coverage of cryptozoo creatures here at Rue Morgue, I began to research one of my favorite cryptids, the alleged “Fouke Monster,” a hairy swamp-dwelling creature from Arkansas who inspired the classic horror film, The Legend of Boggy Creek. As I delved into the subject and interviewed many of the locals in Fouke, I realized there were so many intriguing details to the story that it deserved something more than just an article or blog post — it deserved a book! So after nearly two years of research and writing, it’s finally here! If you dig spooky tales, swamp monsters, bigfoot, backwoods legends, horror movie history, etc. I think you’ll love the book!
THE BEAST OF BOGGY CREEK: THE TRUE STORY OF THE FOUKE MONSTER
by Lyle Blackburn

Tales of the creature have long existed in scattered pieces across news clippings, memoirs, police reports, and movies, but it is only now that the complete history of the Fouke Monster has been assembled in one place. This book collects all the facts, theories, and amazing sighting reports, and weaves them into a fascinating tale about this undeniable southern mystery.
