Monstro Bizarro: Sasquatch Movie List – Updated!

on November 11, 2011 | 10 Comments

With the on-going boom of Bigfoot-inspired films, I thought it would be a good idea to update the Sasquatch Cinema list I posted last year.  For those brave explorers who seek the thrills, chills, and punishment of celluloid sasquatchery, heed close the latest evidence.

NOTE:  The following list covers fictional movies and television shows that have a Bigfoot or Yeti theme.  It does not include documentaries.  It also does not include any “missing link” type monsters, i.e., ancient man-like creatures frozen in ice and thawed in the modern age.

  1. Autumnforest says:

Fantastic list! I’m going to bookmark this one. There’s a few I haven’t seen. I’m still waiting for someone to get a Bigfoot movie right. I see Syfy has Rage of the Yeti this Saturday night-oh brother–their original movies are over-the-top awful but so awful, they’re fun.

  2. James Burrell says:

Just recently got around to watching SNOWBEAST, the 1977 TV movie with Bo Svenson, Yvette Mimieux and Clint Walker and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Wished they had showed the yeti a little bit more though.

  3. Wendy says:

To the Bigfoot movie experts, which of these on the list would you recommend most?

  4. Lyle says:

hello Wendy. These movies range from horror to cheesy to comedy (intentional and not), so opinions on which are best might vary based on personal taste. My personal favorites are:

    BIGFOOT:
    The Legend of Boggy Creek
    Creature From Black Lake
    Sasquatch, The Legend of Bigfoot
Search for the Beast (cheesy, but fun)
    Clawed: The Legend of Sasquatch
    Sasquatch Gang (comedy)
Paper Dolls (great twist on the theme)
    Savage

    YETI:
    The Abomidable Snowman
    Snowbeast (original 1977)
Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon

  5. Thanks a lot, Lyle! I think the only one I have seen is “The Legend of Boggy Creek”. I am going to look the others up!

I know one film where you can see yeti. This film is finnish and film name is “Pekka ja Pätkä lumimiehen jäljillä” 1954 (english name:Tracing the snowman).

  9. Dave Coleman says:

I find it impossible to stay 100% on top of every Bigfoot movie, and I just wrote a book about it! A great list herein and definitely worth pursuing many of these treasures. Btw, McFarland has announced my book THE BIGFOOT FILMOGRAPHY will finally see print the week before Xmas 2011, no less! Happy Santa-squatch and thanks for the list, Lyle!
