The film division of Rue Morgue has just announced RM head ghoul Rodrigo Gudiño, who has also written and directed several award-winning short films, has officially begun production on his first full-length feature, The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh. Scheduled for a 2012 release, the film centres on an antiques collector who inherits a house from his estranged mother only to discover that she had been living in a shrine devoted to a mysterious cult of angels.

“I’m exploring new ways of telling a story,” says Rodrigo. “This film will be ambitious in this regard, and I expect it will linger afterwards, especially when audiences find themselves alone in their home.”

Set to shoot in October, the movie will be lensed by cinematographer Derek Rogers (Cube, Resident Evil: Apocalypse) and feature FX work by Kyle Glencross (300, Dawn of the Dead remake, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World).

A psychologically haunting slow-burn, Rosalind Leigh will be followed by Rodrigo’s highly anticipated remake of the violent Spanish western Cut Throats Nine.
