Just announced: Rue Morgue Managing Editor Monica S. Kuebler will be the Media Guest of Honour at this year’s Killer Con 3 (September 22 – 25, 2011) in Las Vegas, baby, Vegas. Once a year, for four days, multi-genre writers from around the globe convene in the glitziest oasis in the desert for panel discussions, readings, writing workshops, parties, signings, author Q&As, and unbelievably cool stuff like a forensics seminar that encourages audience participation for a blood spatter demo that promises to “explore what body fluids actually do when you batter, bash and slash a real victim.” (!)

Joining Monica so far will be writer/director Lucky McKee (May, Red, The Woman), author Ray Garton a.k.a. Joseph Locke (Live Girls, Ravenous), bestselling author and multiple Bram Stoker Award winner Jonathan Maberry (Patient Zero, Rot & Ruin), and award-winning writer/director/author Mick Garris (FearNET, Masters of Horror series, and more genre movies and TV shows than I could possibly list here). More guests are still to be announced!

Essentially, if you aspire to write or are a fan of horror, thriller, paranormal literature, or combinations thereof, I advise you to get yourself some Acapulco shirts, rent a very fast car with no top, procure a suitcase rammed full of your favourite poisons and get your ass to Sin City for the fourth weekend in September.
