Responses to Download RM’s Free Album of Terror Tunes Now!

  1. Ron McKenzie says:

This is an excellent (and very eclectic) mix of tunes. The inclusion of the mock trailers is the cherry on top though – Murder On The Gondola is pure gold. So “hats off” to everybody involved here for ‘ the little audio experiment’ that could – pats on the back all around.

  2. Joe Cole says:

    Awesome! Thanks.

  3. Jeff Doak says:

I love this! But, now I want last years. I didn’t know there was a last years until this year.

  4. line up on the album looks great.

  5. Scotty says:

Brilliant stuff as usual, RM. I don’t know of any other magazine that rewards their readers with the possible exception of the usual music rags, so kudos and thanks.

  6. Steve says:

Nice! Thanks for providing me my morning tunes

  7. Steve says:

So far so good! I can’t even get passed the first song …lol

  8. Meli says:

Listened to this on my way to work this morning and it is most excellent! I second Ron’s sentiments. Very eclectic mix and the faux trailers are a riot!

I love it m/ Thanks for everyone’s efforts. It is greatly appreciated.

  9. Trevor says:

Thanks for the feedback, everybody! Glad you’re all liking it! Any standout tracks for you at this point? Jeff, though you can’t download the first Hymns comp anymore, the digital version of the Black 100 issue (which is also free) for PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone or iTouch does offer some of the original album as embedded links.

  10. Scotty says:

I’ve been a fan of a few artists on Rise Above Records – namely Ghost and Electric Wizard – but hadn’t yet heard Blood Ceremony. I’d say their track, Oliver Haddo, is my favorite so far.

  11. Steve says:

Standouts? Ha …too many to list, but if I’d have to pick my favorite ones it would easily be Suck Me, You Can’t Give Me Anything, and Shhh… Perfect for high school horror flicks :-)

  12. Ron McKenzie says:

I love You Can’t Give Me Anything, Monster and Bad Ritual, but it’s Violet Hellfire on the top of the list so far. Calabrese blew the doors off on this one.

  13. We’ve had so much fun listening (and contributing, with the fake trailers!) to this around the office as Trevor and Tomb were assembling it. The day we first melted our frontal lobes with “Blood Will Have Blood,” I knew it was something special. Crank that track up and give yourself a seizure.

  14. Meli says:

Sounds like Ron and I share the same favorites.

Love the Timber Timbre cut, Bad Ritual.
Suck Me is fantastic! The Morricone-inspired layer gives it an interesting sound. (is that a sample or recreation?)
Monster is my most played song right now on the comp.
Get Up and Kill is another great cut and I love the head nod to my favorite Sabbath album.
Love Phantom Chop as well. Reminds me of Satan’s Pilgrims.

I didn’t like Blood Will Have Blood the first time I heard it, but it got to me the 2nd round for some reason. Makes me wanna break shit which I like :)

  15. The whole Timber Timbre album is exceptional, and it was a great score getting that track. Definitely a fave too, along with the Black Moth Super Rainbow cut and Monster for sure.

  16. Meli says:

I hadn’t finished listening to the comp when I posted, but gotta mention Squid Lid as a standout entry as well. I have enjoyed what I heard of Squid Lid on Rue Morgue Radio and this was an exceptional effort as well.
