It’s been eight years since we’ve heard from Chicago’s murder metal vets Macabre. Today, Rue Morgue celebrates the return of the heavy-hittin’ horror geeks as we host the exclusive premiere of a new track, “The Bloody Benders,” from their brand-new blast of gruesome nursery rhyme gore, Grim Scary Tales (out today on the band’s own Decomposed Records label).

Recorded over the course of the band’s 25th anniversary last year, this 14-track sack of fairy tales on crack finds Macabre smashing its trademark high octane gore-grind together with a lyrical “story book of murder,” which traces the history of some of the world’s creepiest killers: Locusta, Vlad Tepes, Gilles Garnier, “The Blood Countess” Elizabeth Bathory, Mary Ann Cotton, the Bender Family and Lizzie Borden to name just a few.
